80% off at Restaurant.com

Click here to visit Restaurant.com. You can see all of the participating restaurants by typing in your zip code, or just search by state. Great if you are planning to travel! You can print out the gift certificate right away or save it for later, but buy now before they sell out!

*You DO NOT need to purchase a $25 gift certificate to get 80% off. Just apply the discount code DISH to your order before you check out and it will discount any amount of gift certificate that you have in your cart.

$10 = $0.60!!
$25 = $2.00
$50 = $4.00

**make sure to look at the conditions for each individual restaurant. I believe all of them require a minimum purchase. It can either be purchasing 2 or more entrees or a certain dollar amount, such as $20.

It's been a while...

I haven't been doing any posts for a couple of weeks because with the warmer weather comes more activities! Which is good, rather than being stuck indoors. But you would think with all this rain, I would be indoors more... I have also started school, so I am not planning on posting much because of that either. Here are my favorite blogs and web sites where I find most of my frugal info:

My latest Albertson's trips!

I made a couple different transactions at Albertson's this last week, thanks to the week-long double coupons in this week's ad! I don't have pictures of the Hefty bags, but I was able to get 5 boxes of Hefty quart-size storage bags for FREE!

I'm not sure how my mom got them, but she got a bunch of coupons for $5 off a $40 purchase with your preferred savings card and I was determined to get my subtotal to just above $40, and with coupons get it down to around $10 so I could use my $10 catalina that I got from a previous promotion and it was due to expire today. I accomplished my goal: my subtotal was $40.11 and after coupons, my new subtotal was $9.14! I actually had to buy a pack of gum as a filler item in order to use the $10 catalina, which is can only be used if your subtotal is equal to or more than the amount of the catalina. So I grabbed a pack of $1.29 gum and after my catalina and tax, I paid $1.85 for the following:

1 pack of gum
4 Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower cleaner (full price: $4.99 each!)
5 Kraft dressings
1 Heinz ketchup
1 20 oz Pepsi (I was thirsty!)
1 bag Kraft shredded mozarella cheese
2 Kraft Cracker Cuts sliced cheese
0.75 lbs bulk mushrooms
TOTAL SAVED: $54.69!

Next, I did these transactions using double coupons and 1 $3 catalina:
2 boxes Wheat Thins
2 Healthy Choice frozen entrees
1 pack of gum (as filler)
Paid OOP: $1.17
Total saved: $16.26

3 Edge Shave Gels (these were completely free with coupons, I only paid tax)
Paid OOP: $0.31
Total saved: $9.57

All in all, I spent OOP $3.33 and saved $80.52! Not bad...

I still have 2 $3 catalinas that expire on June 7. I've already looked at this week's ad (May 27 - June 2) and so far, I'm not really wanting anything special. So I just might wait until the next week after that to use them. And hopefully we will get some more double coupons if Albertson's really loves us ;)

Remember the Kashi coupons I told you about?

I'm not sure how much the other flavors of Kashi waffles are at Target, but the Honey Oat Kashi waffles are on sale this week for $1.79. I think I remember a couple weeks ago that the other flavors were $2.29 at regular price. I plan to go to Target tomorrow with my $1.50 off coupons to get boxes of waffles for $0.29 - $0.79 a box!

Click here to see if you can still print off your own coupons.
Well, the sales are over and a new one begins at 6am Wednesday morning, but I was able to really take advantage of the promos and double coupons going on. I made several different transactions to use the doubles & I put everything into the picture and added up my total OOP (out of pocket) paid and my total savings. Savings include: preferred card savings, manufacturer coupons and store coupons (double coupons).

Bought:
12 boxes of cereal
3 boxes of Bisquick
3 Green Giant frozen vegetables
2 organic yogurt
2 packages Kraft singles
8 4-packs Yo-plus yogurt
1 milk

OOP: $7.56
Saved: $110.48

Bought:
4 Capri Sun
2 A-1 sauce
2 3-packs Apple juice
10 Yoplait yogurt
3 boxes Special K
22 Kraft bbq sauce
1 Listerine
6 Aveeno lotion
5 Johnson's body wash
1 Johnson's leave-in conditioner
1 Neosporin
1 Band-aids
5  children's Motrin
1 Cascade rinse agent
3 Palmolive dish soap
2 Glad trash bags
2 Clorox bleach
1 Clorox wipes

OOP: $45.57
Saved: $243.79 This is not a misprint! I really did save this much money, plus I still have a $10 catalina from one of the transactions to use on a future purchase! I also could have spent less out of pocket and saved even more money because one of the Albertsons I went to would only take 2 internet printables. So with my doubles, I could have spent about $10 less and saved around $30 more.

Total OOP: $53.13
Saved: $354.27

I plan to contact Albertson's corporate to ask them about the internet printable coupon policy. I've been told by a few stores that they can only take 2 printable coupons per product. Period. But, I've had other stores take 12 of the same internet printable coupons in a row (for the Kraft bbq sauce). Once I get a clear answer from corporate, I will post their answer on here and plan to print off the email I receive and carry it with me at all times!!!

Mailbox Monday

Here are a couple of pictures from the last couple of weeks for Mailbox Monday, since I never got around to posting them before. I won't list everything that is in the picture, but I will post later tonight what I got this last week, and then I will list what I got! Thanks for putting up with the non-pics the last few weeks!

Albertsons Double coupons 2nd week in a row!!

Ahhh, this is why I wait until the last few days of the sale to go shopping at Albertson: In today's Sunday paper, there were inserts with 3 Albertson's double coupons again. I managed to get a lot of free stuff last week with the double coupons and the promos, plus a $10 voucher good on my next purchase! So far, I'm not planning on using the $10 catalina just yet. I might save it for next week, depending on what the new sales look like. I got 5 papers today, so with the promotions this week, I'll be getting a lot of free stuff again. Listed below is one of the promotions going on that will be great to use your doubles on.

*Remember: You can only use 3 double coupons per transaction, and Albertson's new coupon policy states that you can only use 4 of the same internet printable coupons per transaction. Email Albertsons and ask for their coupon policy because they have recently made some changes and not all of the stores are up-to-date. Print it out and take it shopping with you.
Many Albertson's will let you do 2 transactions in a row with the double coupons, but not with the same internet printables. For example, if I want 8 Yoplait Yo-plus yogurts and I want to use the $1.50 internet printables, I would have to buy 4 one day and come back for the other 4 another day, or go to a different Albertsons. *Pain* but worth it, especially if you are planning on going back anyway to use more doubles.

Albertsons General Mills promo: Save $4 instantly when you spend $10 on participating items. Prices shown are BEFORE/AFTER $4 instant discount. Use the first total to add up to $10. If there is a coupon to match up to the item, it will be listed directly below with the final price. The dates listed are the inserts the coupons are in. For example SS-5/3 means it was in May 3rd's Smart Source coupon insert. There may have been 2 Smart Source inserts that week, so look in both.

Sick kids = No blog

So my 2 little babies have been sick for a little over a week now, which is about how long it's been since my last post! After 2 seperate trips to 2 different doctors and then spending a good 4-5 hours at Primary Childrens Hospital last night, it came back positive that my youngest has the flu. Even though my son's test came back negative, they are doing a culture and the doc said he is positive it will come back that he has the flu too because he has the exact same symptoms! So I still won't be blogging very much over the next week, until they feel better. Here is a nice little coupon for you:

Go here to print an Einsteins Bros Bagels coupon for Buy 3 get 3 FREE! Deal expires May 19, 2009 so hurry!
Here is a tip (since I used to work there): Just buy a tub or 2 of cream cheese, it's only about $2 more than a side of cream cheese and you get more than twice as much. You can also ask for your bagels to be sliced & then get a freezer bag at the register to make your bagels last longer!

Speaking of FREE chocolate....

Every Friday from now until September 2009, they will be giving away coupons for a free candy bar of the following varieties:

Peanut M&Ms
Dove
Snickers
Three Musketeers
Twix
Milky Way

The giveaway starts tomorrow May 8 at 9AM EST through 11:59 PM EST. There will only be 250,000 coupons available per Friday, so act quickly because these will go fast! They will be mailed to you, so allow 6-8 weeks for your coupon. Limit of one coupon per email address per Friday and four coupons per household total. More reasons to LOVE Target

There are quite a few freebies & good deals at good ol' Target this week! Check it out:

Check the travel/trial-size section of your Target store to see if they have Banana Boat sunscreen for $0.99. If so, you can use the $1/1 coupon from the 5/3 RedPlum insert to get this for free! The coupon does not state that it has to be used on any certain size.

Also, this week when you buy 4 Fiber One Products, you get a $5 Target gift card. This deal includes the bars and cereals and the toaster pastries and yogurt! The yogurt is reportedly priced at $1.92-$2.39 and the toaster pastries are $1.79.

Here's how to get them free or almost-free:

Buy 4 Fiber One packs of yogurt at $1.92-$2.39 each
Use 4 $1/1 coupons here (you'll need two computers to print 4 coupons as the limit is 2 per computer)
Spend $3.68 to $5.56 plus tax OOP
Get a $5 Target gift card

Or, buy 4 Fiber One toaster pastries at $1.79 each
Use 4 $0.50/1 coupons from the 4/19 SmartSource insert
Spend $5.16 plus tax OOP
Get a $5 Target gift card back

You can "roll" these gift card deals using the gift card you earned on the previous transaction to pay for your next transaction. In addition, you can mix and match Fiber One products depending upon what coupons you have and what products your family likes. I have never tried any of the Fiber One products, but I hope to take this opportunity to start getting more fiber in my body!

This next deal expires May 9, so act quickly! Many Target stores have bags of Chex Mix in the check-out lanes for $0.99. Use the $1/1 Target coupon available to print from here to get them free!

And while you're over at Hot Coupon World printing off your Target coupon for the Chex Mix, print a few of the $1.00 off coupon for Hershey's Bliss. You can use these on the candy bars also found in the check-out lanes priced at $0.99. Free chocolate? Oooohhhh yeahhhhhh

A big thanks goes out to Money Saving Mom and Mercedes for posting these!

Cheap eat-outs

A few of our favorite restaurants are hopping on the lowering-prices bandwagon in an effort to bring in more diners. Some are keeping the portion sizes the same, some are shrinking them a little bit, calling them "perfectly portioned". Which, really, is still plenty of food. Check out the links below to see their menu items:

Chili's 10 Under $7

TGI Friday's $5 Sandwiches and Salads (limited time only, check your local restaurant for details)

Mimi's Cafe Just Enough Breakfast
Mimi's Cafe Just Enough Lunch

Every Monday, Redbox gives a free promo code for $1.00 off your rental. Is you return the movie before 9 pm the next day, your movie is free!

The rest of my Albertson's trips + Walmart + Smith's

Yesterday was the last day to use the Albertsons double coupons. Since my husband bought 12, yes 12, papers so we could get tons of coupons, I was able to make multiple trips and also use up my $25 in catalinas from the Trail Mix Crunch transactions I made earlier this month. (I got 25 boxes of cereal for just a few dollars and got 5 $5 catalinas to use on my future purchases. 2 of them expired on the 20th and the remaining 3 expired yesterday. So I had to go use up all of these coupons!) Even though I had $25 in free groceries, I wanted to make the most out of it, so I used coupons on almost every thing I bought, then I doubled them. I actually had to grab candy bars on 2 of the transactions to be able to use the catalinas. My Albertsons let me do 2 transactions in a row with the doubles. So I made 2 more transactions at Albertsons in the morning before work, then I went to a different Albertsons, who only let me do 1 transaction, so I went to another nearby Albertsons. They let me 2 transactions in a row as well. Luckily, I live near a lot of grocery stores, and I had to go to Smith's before their sale ended at midnight, so I basically just made a circle hitting up all of these different stores. I also decided to go to Walmart to try and find hummus, which Smith's didn't have but Walmart didn't have either!!! but I was able to use up alot of good coupons there. Since it is way late (or early in the a.m.) and I doubled most of my coupons, and the sales expired yesterday,  I will just post the picture of everything I bought yesterday and then I will break down the Walmart trip in the morning. But I hope this is a big inspiration to everyone to see what is possible by taking the time to coupon!

I split these up into 2 transactions to A. use 3 double coupons and B. use the $5.00/off any purchase catalinas that I got from my Post Trail Mix Crunch transactions. 2 bags Cascadian Farm frozen fruit 3.99 each
1 bag Cascadian Farm frozen veggie 2.99 each
candy bar .79
  - 3 $1.00 Cascadian Farm coupons from inserts

1st & 2nd Albertsons double coupon trips

The first trips I made using the double coupons, I wanted to make sure I squeezed all the savings I could out of them. I used grocerysmarts.com to compile my shopping list of items on sale and the coupons to match with them, then I broke it up into seperate transactions to use 3 of the double coupons per sale.

1st transaction:
Quaker/Pepsi promo: Save $3 instantly when you spend $15 on participating items. Mix and Match over 400 items. These are the only items I wanted from the sale. Prices listed are the sale price before the $3/off promo

6 Quaker True Delights Granola Bars
$2.50 x 6: $15.00
- $3.00 from promo
- 6 $1.00/1 from the 3/1 RP insert
- 3 $1.00 doubles
Final OOP: $3.50 before tax (he only rang up 5 boxes, so I actually did not get the $3 promo, but paid $2.50 per box instead of $2.00 per box if he had rang up 6. Difference of 0.50 overcharged. Not a biggie)

2nd transaction:
6 Sobe Lifewater $1.00 each
6 RiceARoni $1.25 each
2 Aunt Jemima syrup $2.00 each
- $3.00 from promo
- 3 B1G1 Sobe printable
- 2 $1.00/3 RiceARoni printable
- 2 $1.00 doubles
WackyMac pasta $1.89
- $0.50 printable no longer available
- $0.50 double
Albertsons large dozen eggs $1.39
- $1.00 Albertsons coupon received in the mail
Final OOP: $9.78 before tax

SAVED: $41.21!

Albertson's Double Coupons

UPDATE** There were only 3 coupons in the paper today and you can use 3 per family per transaction. I got 12 papers, and when I went to the store later this evening, there was a stack of them just sitting out by the frozen foods section. I only took 3 more of the ads, giving me 9 more doubles and it made up for the coupons I was using in that trip and then some, and still plenty left over for others! So just keep an eye out at your store, or ask the customer service desk if you can have some.

Thanks to Shopping With Cents, it has been confirmed that Albertson's will have double coupons in tomorrow's Sunday paper. There will be 4 of them and you can usually only use 4 double coupons per transaction. Albertsons will allow you to do 3 seperate transactions in a row, so you can take 12 doubles.

Also, the stores were out of a few items that I wanted to get last time. The double coupons are usually only good for 3 days. So, make a list of which coupons you'd like to double first, then have back-ups ready. Then if they are out of a product, you can still take advantage of good deals & the doubles without running around to different stores.

I like to go through the ad to see what is on sale and figure coupon match-ups with coupons I already have or can print online. Then I see which ones would be best to use to save even more with the doubles. Or, I will go through all of my coupons that are due to expire soon or are $1.00 off so I can take advantage of the double coupons and still get things at a pretty good price, even if the items aren't on sale or a good sale price.

They also can sell you the Sunday paper at a discounted rate.

I owe all of my grocery savings to them, and I can't imagine much of a better resource for my Utah deals than them. Please join me and many others for a Grocery Smarts class taught at my friend Soraya's house.

FREE cereal + $10 overage!

** UPDATE: I wanted to get more of this cereal so I could get the catalinas, and I was really fortunate to get my hands on multiple $2 off coupons, so my Albertson's let me pre-pay for 15 more boxes of cereal before the sale ended. I'm so glad that they let me do this, because I was tired of going to the store just to see they were sold out of the cereal. So after everything, I spent only a few dollars on tax and got $25 in free groceries on future visits! I have also heard from family that this cereal is amazing.

I finally some Trail Mix Crunch cereals at an Albertson's by my house. I have literally gone to 1-2 different Albertson's every day to try and find some but they are always sold off the shelves. I was lucky enough to grab 10. I only had 5 of the $2/1 coupons with me, but I couldn't risk not getting more. I will get more of the coupons and go back with them to get my $$ back. The sale for the cereal is this:

Post cereal $2.07 single purchase
Save $1.00 when you purchase 2, bringing them down to $1.57 each.
When you buy 2, you get a $2/off catalina
When you buy 3, get a $3/off catalina
When you buy 5, get a $5/off catalina

Catalina's are coupons that print off at the register and are handed to you with your reciept. They are coupons to use on your next purchase, and usually just a dollar amount off of your total. Some may be a coupon for a specific item.

So I bought 10 boxes of cereal in seperate transactions, because after buying the first 5, I decided to go back and get more before they run out.

For my first transaction, 4 boxes of the cereal rang up as $1.57 apiece and the 5th box rang up as $2.07. Even though the coupons were for $2/1, she only took $1.57 off each box. She should have taken the full $2.00 off coupon for the last box, but I think she was on a roll and only took $1.57 off. Not a big deal, only paying $0.50 for 5 boxes of cereal, but since I will be going back anyway with my coupons, I'll just get my $0.50 back too.

So, my total OOP for the 5 boxes of cereal after tax (and a drink): $2.30 - $0.50: $1.80
And then I got my $5 off catalina

2nd transaction:
5 boxes of trail mix crunch
4 at $1.57 each
1 at $2.07
OOP: paid $8.60
And got my $5 off catalina
Will go back today with 5 $2/1 coupons and get all of my money back.

I'm not sure how they will figure out tax, but if they do the same thing and only give $1.57 back for 4 of the boxes of cereal, plus my $0.50 back from the first transaction, I will get back at least $8.78

So all in all, I got 10 boxes of cereal for FREE and got $10 FREE money/coupons to use on my next purchase! Woo hoo!

Free Quaker Rice Cakes sample

Quaker rice and multigrain snacks are satisfyingly delicious. They're made with wholesome ingredients such as brown rice, wheat and corn and topped with great tasting flavors like Chocolatey Drizzle and Cheddar Cheese. (yes, this almost-exact wording came from Quakerricesnacks.com)  I couldn't have said it better myself! I have not tried either of these flavors (yet. I signed up for my chocolate sample!) but I am a fan of the other flavors. Especially the Multigrain Minis, Cinnamon Sugar flavor mmmmm.
