Walmart trip

I got a lot of stuff from Walmart today, a lot of it FREE!  Still not worth it, see my post later on this week as to why I hate shopping there!

2 Pace Picante Salsa  $2.52 each
- 2 $4.00 off printable (no longer available)
Free + $2.96 overage

2 Pace Peach Mango Chipotle Salsa  $2.84 each
- 2 $4.00 off printable (no longer available)
Free + $2.32 overage

Purina cat food  $3.98
- $3.50 off printable (which of course, I forgot to give to them, so I will have to go back to get my $ back)
$3.98 (will be $0.47 after I take coupon in)

4 Halls cough drops 30 count  $1.18 each
- 4 FREE Halls cough drops up to 30-count coupon from today's paper
Free

string cheese  $0.25 to feed my starving children

Kotex pads  $1.00
- $1.00 off any Kotex brand manufacturer
Free

Cascade Rinse Agent  $3.13
- FREE Cascade Rinse Agent from coupon book received in the mail
Free

2 Quaker Rice Quakes snacks  $1.50 each
- 2 $1.00 off manufacturer (more of these came in today's (3/29) paper as well but I am saving those because I grabbed the last 2 bags that Walmart had)
$0.50 each

2 Yoplait Yo+ 4-packs  $2.08 each
- $1.50 printable
$0.58 each

RockStar Energy Drink  $1.98 (as filler so I wouldn't go into negative at register, which I would've done if I had given her my $3.50 off cat food coupon!)

My subtotal without that coupon: $3.08 so I still would have been in the negative and I would've had to purchase some gum or something. We will see if they just give me back the cash value of the coupon, or make me purchase something while I am at customer service next time.
TOTAL OOP without that coupon: $4.57!!!
I will get back $3.50 next visit!!!
So my NEW TOTAL OOP: $1.07!!!

Here's what I got at Target last week!

I managed to get some $3.00 off Pledge coupons before they were all gone from their website. Last time I tried, I got the $2.00 off coupons but for some reason, the $3.00 ones didn't print. So I tried a different computer & it worked! I wish I could've gotten them the first time too, then I would've gotten the last Pledge wipes I bought for free instead of .74! Still a good deal, but FREE is best! I also got 2 more $2.00 off coupons. The $2.00 off ones could be used for the multi-purpose wipes or spray, and the $3.00 off coupons were to be used for the spray only. They both cost the same and I prefer the wipes over the spray, so I figured I'd just try using the coupons anyway. The cashier noticed that the coupons were for the spray but scanned them in, anyway. I think she figured the same as I did about them costing the same either way. She was really nice, I LOVE Target & the employees! Here's the breakdown of my purchases & whether or not they're still available:

Nasal aspirator: $2.49
Glade aerosol spray: $0.87
- $0.87 off any Glade air spray from Target mailing book (it was actually for $1.00 off but it only took off the actual cost of the product)
Free

4 Pledge multi-purpose wipes $3.74 each
- 4 $1.00 off Target coupons
- 2 $2.00 off manufacturer
- 2 $3.00 off manufacturer
2 Free
2 for $0.48 each

2 Litehouse salad dressings $3.99
- $1.00 off 2 any Litehouse products
$6.98 for 2

8 Naked All Natural juice $2.99 each
- 4 $2.00 off 2 printable
$15.92 for 8

2 Archer Farms Artisan bread $0.99 each
- 2 $0.99 off Target coupons
Free

2 Slim Fast shakes $5.49 each
- 2 $1.25 off manufacturer
$8.48 for 2

Purina Dog Food can $1.27
 - FREE item manufacturer
Free

Bolt DVD $15.99
- $5.00 off printable
$10.99
**Word on the blogs is that Bolt is the cheapest at Target right now. They also had a deal when you bought Bolt and Lilo & Stitch, you automatically saved $10. Since a new week has started, I am not sure if this deal is still available or not. Either way, when you purchase Bolt, you can get a $4.00 rebate from Ronzoni.  All you have to do is buy any one item of these brands: Ronzoni, Smart Taste, San Giorgio, Creamette, American Beauty, Prince or Skinner. Since I already stocked up on American Beauty pasta on my last Smith's shopping trip, all I have to do is send my receipts & UPCs! So it will be like getting the movie for $6.99 after rebate, awesome! Visit this blog here for more info and Ronzoni for the rebate form and all official details.

TOTAL OOP: $49.66
Amount saved after coupons: $38.63

FREE breakfast at Mimi's!

Sign up for the Mimi's Cafe eClub and you'll receive a coupon in your inbox for a free breakfast! My favorite entree from there is the french toast. It always fills me up & it's big enough to share with my both of my kids (yes, both!) and they always give children a snack plate of oranges and cheerios while we wait for our food. So I will take this opportunity to go on a mommy and kiddies breakfast date for the cost of drinks for me and Punk (Little Miss has a sippy) & a tip!

2nd Mailbox Monday post

I promised I would post a picture of the most current items I got for *free* last week, so here it is! I got a lot of back-issues of magazines and that's why there is so many.

2 Family Circle
2 Entertainment
1 Martha Stewart Living
3 Body+Soul
eatbetteramerica coupon book
Betty Crocker coupon book
Cream of Wheat sample and $1.00 off coupon
Starbucks Instant Coffee samples

Albertson's trip

So I was able to get my hands on a total of 8 Albertson's double coupons (thank you Oma & Opa Pete). I doubled 7 $1.00 off coupons and one .55 off coupon. You could only use 4 coupons per transaction, so I did it in 2 separate transactions as follows:

Kellogg's promo: Save $10 instantly when you buy 10 participating products. Makes it:
6 Kellogg's cereal $1.50 each
- 5 .70 off manufacturer coupons
4 Kellogg's Pop Tarts (LARGE size!) $1.50 each
- $1.00 peelie on each box
- $1.00 doubled each time

Total spent OOP: $3.83
(I just realized that I did not use a coupon for the 6th box of cereal. So when I go back this week, I will take one in and get some $ back)
SAVED after coupons and sales: $40.10!

2-liter Pepsi (feeding the habit...) $1.34
Yoplait Yo+ Yogurt (4-pack) $2.99
- $1.00 off manufacturer coupon
- $1.00 doubled
Tropicana 100% OJ 2/$5
- $1.00 off 2 manufacturer
- $1.00 doubled
2 Red Baron Pizza breads $2.50 each
- $1.00 off 2 manufacturer
- $1.00 doubled
Hormel Natural Choice lunch meat $4.99
- .55 off manufacturer
- .55 doubled

Total spent OOP: $12.69
SAVED (sales & coupons): $14.91
**I looked at the ad before my trip and saw the Hormel meat on sale for $2.38 so I thought WOO-HOO I am going to get this cheap but I didn't pay attention that it was only that price from 3/20 - 3/22. Otherwise I would not have bought it. Little Miss loves ham and I love Little Miss but I do not love paying $4 for lunch meat! So I am not sure if I will take it back or not to get something else that is actually on sale. I'll check the ad that starts on 3/25 and see if it's worth it to exchange.

Double coupons at Albertsons

I hope you found the coupons in this Sunday's paper from Albertson's that will double any coupon up to $1.00! Any coupon valued at $1.01 or more does not qualify, but this is a fantastic opportunity to get some great deals. There are 4 of them, and they expire March 24, 2009. I plan to browse the grocery ad and match up the coupons with the sales to get the best deals.

Did you know? that Albertson's also accepts competitor's coupons? So even if you can't find a coupon in your coupon inserts for an item you want to buy, check for other coupons from places like Target or even Walgreens. For example, Eggo waffles are on sale at Albertson's 3/$5. An associate once told me that you do not have to buy the amount it says in order to get the sale price. Double check with your store when you go shopping. This means that they are $1.67 each. There are no coupons for Eggo waffles (I rarely see them) but Target has a coupon for $1 off when you buy 2 Eggo waffles. Then you can get Eggo waffles for $1.17 each. Not bad! Keep an eye out for these things, and when certain items go on sale, you can combine a manufacturer coupon with a competitor coupon on top of the sale to get even more of a deal!

Feel free to leave a comment if you have any q's. I will post my shopping trip tomorrow, after I am able to make it to the store.

Mailbox Monday

One of my favorite frugal blogs to check out on a daily basis is A Frugal Friend. Every Monday, she posts a picture of all the FREE stuff she got in the mail the past week. It's been a lot of fun getting all of the free magazines and samples in the mail, and I also want to show everyone all of the things you can get too. It's really exciting! This picture is actually from the week before last and I got a second Martha Stewart Living magazine in the mail after the picture was taken. The dish soap and the samples & coupons that came with it are from me becoming a BzzAgent. More on that later!

I do have alot more FREE items that I got this previous week, but I took many of the magazines to work for us girls to look at when it's slow. So I will bring them home later tonight to take the picture and post it.

Last week's shopping trips *UPDATED WITH PICS*

I apologize for being late on my posts for these shopping trips. We've been busy! and plus the Wal-Mart trip was done earlier today, so technically, not late on that one. :)

We made a trip to Smith's last week and since the sales are over, I will just put what we got and what we spent OOP.

2 Dole Parfaits
6 American Beauty pasta
5 Betty Crocker potatoes
5 Frosted Mini Wheats Lil' Bites Cereal
4 bag Quaker Quakes Rice Snacks

After all sales/coupons total OOP: $14.94

I had 2 $1 off coupons for the rice snacks, but since they were on sale for .99 before the sale, the register would not accept the coupon. Otherwise, they would have been free. But they weren't and I had to get 2 filler items to complete the sale Smith's was having. Still, .49 for a bag of rice snacks (that my kids love, by the way) is not bad. Now I can use those 2 coupons at Target or Wal-Mart and actually get them for less than .40 a bag. Each bag of pasta was also .49 each and the cereal boxes were .69 each. They did not have the flavor I wanted, so I will go back to exchange the next time I'm at the store.

We had to go to Target for cat litter, which I tried to print a $1 off coupon for, but for some reason, my printer was unplugged and it lost the connection for the print. Since online coupons can only be printed twice usually, I couldn't try again because it said I had printed the max 2. Oh well... I had other coupons so we got:

2 Pledge multi-surface furniture wipes $3.74 each
- $1.00 off Target coupon
Chips Ahoy (spur-of-the-moment buy) $2.00
2 Archer Farms bread loaves .99 each
-$1.00 off Target coupon
2 6-packs Mott's Applesauce (yes, more!) $1.69
- $1.00 Target coupon
- .55 off Printable coupon
bananas $1.46
cat litter $7.44
easter basket $9.99
easter basket $7.99

Total OOP: $31.76
Considering that the total of the 2 easter baskets = $17.98,
and the litter was $7.44,
we got all the other stuff for $6.34.
The cost of the 2 Pledge wipes retail is: $7.48.
So to me, that's like getting 2.5 lbs of bananas, 2 packs of applesauce, 2 loaves of bread and a pack of cookies for FREE. With $1.14 left over. Does that make sense?

We also made a trip to Wal-Mart for a few things I had heard would be free or almost free after using certain coupons. This was not the case, but we still made out pretty good, considering my hubby got a Hawaiian print shirt for his friend's wedding (don't ask) for $11 when they were selling for $24 at Smith's Marketplace.

1 Hawaiian print shirt $11
1 Frank's Red-Hot sauce $.87
- .50 off Printable
2 bags Purina cat food $3.98 each
- $3.50 Printable
- $3.50 Printable

Total OOP: $13.66. Stupid shirt.

All of the Target coupons can be printed multiple times from hotcouponworld.com. This saves you & our planet!
Pics of the Target and Wal-Mart trip will come tomorrow.

Elase Hair Removal is cheap!!!

I'm not sure what all the details are on this. The above is all that they have on their website. Make it to the Launch Party March 19-21 to learn more, or call them. It looks like this only applies to the Orem location. But it seems like it may be a really good deal! If I find out more, I will let you know.

Chocolate and Chemistry

Discovery Gateway, if you've never been there before, is a really fun children's museum at The Gateway. I recently found out that Tuesdays are $2 off Tuesdays and then I got this email, with the best parts highlighted in red:

March 21st, 11 am-2 pm
Celebrate the wonders of chocolate and chemistry!
The American Chemical Society is sponsoring a hands-on, youth and family science event about chocolate and chemistry and how they contribute to our quality of life.

The activities, which will be conducted under the supervision of
area chemists, will offer unique opportunities to experience the
wonder and excitement of doing colorful chemistry experiments, learning about the connections between chemistry and chocolate,
and enjoying the sweetness of chocolate. Two lectures on chocolate will be given and chocolate samples will be available.

Tickets:
The first 1000 attendees will receive free admission to the museum.
Location:
Discovery Gateway Museum, 444 West 100 South

Target trip 1

We ended up making 3, yes, 3 trips to Target today! We scored some pretty good deals. We originally went because we needed bleach, Downy and dish scrubbers to get us through the weekend. While there I wanted to use up a bunch of coupons that were due to expire today. During the first trip we were trying to hurry and we forgot to grab the things for which the coupons expire and we had to put the kids down for a nap. So I clipped a bunch more coupons while we were home and ran back to Target. They were out of a few of the things that I wanted to get so that's why I made a 3rd trip, to a different Target. Here are the rundowns of each trip, with all of the items we purchased and the coupons we used directly underneath the item. Since so many of the coupons/sales ended today, I won't provide any links/info on where to get them unless the coupons are still available.

We spent the most money on this trip because we got stuff that we needed but didn't have any coupons for. And we got suckered into buying a really cute Easter dress & shorts for our youngest, Miss B.

Shorts $4.00
Easter dress $17.99
Scrubbing brush refills $3.49
Downy $6.99 (on sale)
Clorox bleach $1.94
20 oz Pepsi $1.49
Windshield washer fluid $1.69
Desktop pencil/pen organizer $5.03 (on clearance)
4 Glade Sense & Spray Automatic Spray air fresheners $8.29 each
- 2 B1G1F coupons
- 3 $3.00 off coupons found inside the packages

The cashier accidentally scanned the $1.00 off coupon, instead of the $3 off coupon that came in one of the Glade boxes. They were attached on the same paper and we were tearing them apart right there. So the next time I go to Target I will see if I can get my $2. I also found a .25 off Downy coupon that I can get back too.

Summary
Glade products: $2.65 each
Total OOP: $54.33
Total saved: $27.23

Target trip 2

2 6-packs Mott's applesauce $1.69 each
- 2 $1.00 off Target coupons
- 2 .55 off manufacturers coupons
3 Venus Embrace razors $7.94 each
- 3 $3.00 off Target coupons
- 3 $2.00 off manufacturers coupons
3 Venus Spa Breeze razors $7.94 each
- 3 $3.00 off Target coupons
- 3 $2.00 off manufacturers coupons
6 Venus Spa Breeze disposable razors $6.59 each (on sale)
- 3 $3.00 off Target coupons
- 3 $2.00 off manufacturers coupons
2 Kids Colgate toothpaste $2.99 each (on sale)
- B1G1F manufacturer coupon from 2/8 P&G coupon book
- 2 .75 off manufacturers coupons from SS 2/22 coupon book
1 Littlest Pet Shop toy for Miss B after she got her finger caught in a sale sign $2.99 (on sale?)

Summary
Applesauce: .14 each
Embrace & Spa breeze razors: $2.94 each
Disposable razors: $1.59 each
Toothpaste: 2/$1.49
Toy: $2.99
Total OOP: $36.02
Saved: $67.59

Now I don't really have any excuse to not shave my legs, lol! The razors and toothpaste should seriously last about a year

Target trip

We went to Target the other night to use a combo of Target coupons and manufacturers coupons. Here's what we got, the prices we paid for each product, and our total OOP (out-of-pocket).

2 packages of pre-packaged brocolli 2 for $3
Used 2 $1 off Target coupons
Total: $1.00 for over 2 lbs

2 packages of Huggies Gentle Care wipes $5.99
Used 2 $5 off manufacturers coupons
Total: 2/$1.98

3 packages of Dodge & Sutton meat, various prices on sale
Used 3 $2 off Target coupons available here
Total: $6.62

2 6-packs of Mott's Applesauce cups $1.69 each
Used 2 $1 off Target coupons
Used 2 .55 off manufacturer's coupons
Total: .28 for 12 cups

Total after tax: $10.97

As you can see in the picture above, the meat alone would have cost us $12.62 and the wipes alone would have been $12. Our total before our coupons was over $32. Not a bad trip!
